internet censorship in Iran...

With the advent of computer, internet was something that was much awaited to make it a perfect package for Homo sapiens(remember!! i wanted to make my posts bombastic ;p). I consider internet as one of the most essential part of life. i am not ashamed to admit that i am an internet addict. yes, i am a net addict. so what.. i need to sit online, check my mails, accounts and search for news, articles, books, n most important for me is the research journals. Also, i get an opportunity to publish blogs ( doesnt matter how many times i begin, but yeah, i atleast do it..!) I read others blog to know their point of view, post comments, interact with people. Oh yeah, interaction reminds me of social networking site like orkut, facebook etc. so internet works like a world in itself where we can relax for sometime and get the required information at our finger tips.

But imagine how life would be when all this is taken away.( i cant go to Iran to get an iranian journal!! ) yes, Iranian government has censored the internet in Iran. People are jailed if they use internet for bloggin.( i wonder what will happen if it is censored in india.. dont worry, political system is smart & going to be stable here.... hopefully!) Not only blogging, internet ban is laid on facebook, youtube,  sites related to political system, women rights, sites that allow freedom of thoughts, democracy n pornography.. In all they have curbed the human rights for everything, even enjoyment. What kind of political system is it that still follows the orthodox religious funda to curb human thoughts n rights. I respect Islam but i dont see a point where it is written to "forcefully" condemn rights. Yes, i agree that you should preserve your religion but not at the cost of torturing people!! if there is no internet, then people will definitely find themselves lagging and behind time ( now this is not the way to go back in time.. i was waiting for a time machine to be invented!!) Seriously, it is a country where people have been long suppressed, women have faced atrocities (especially girls going to school!!!) I do not understand their motive behind doing all this. to reduce Cybercrime?? well there are other ways than cutting people from internet. it is like cutting the umbilical cord of the baby before stepping in the world!!

i dont know how to express my anguish over the issue. all i can say is that i am proud & happy to be an indian.. for the first time i felt that i am a free flying bird and sensed my freedom. i can blog any no. of times i want( i mean any no. of starts!!) i can write openly about political system, i can express my thoughts, i can watch porno whenever i feel like, i can meet and make many new frenz online, chat with people to exchanmge culture... And i know i am not crossing my boundaries to offend my religion and culture.. Thanks to Indian system and thanks to our political leaders for not getting influenced by others.. JAI HIND!!!(n i mean it this time!)
