Ungrateful Basterds!!!

was just watching the citizens journalist in cnn ibn and there was this particular episode about Gayatri Devi. She was a freedom fighter. she was one of a kind who bravely faced the atrocity done to her by the then british rulers and was in some way instrumental for saving many lives. so for the last 20 years she has been getting the freedoms pension but due to some fraud report abt ppl trying to fake ids and gettin pension, her name was cut off the list. she had to endure 8 yrs of pain and had travelled many times from bihar to delhi to ask abt the same. she had written to many officers and ministers abt not getting the pension and till now she hasnt received any info abt it. she has lost all that she had and now literally begging near the highway in delhi and has nothing to eat other than wat she gets from the passersby... she says " i will bear all the hardships especially this xtreme cold weather to fight for her rights".... i pity all these ppl.. the ppl of India vote for ministers and higher officials for the sole reason thinking that these ppl are representatives of common man and will definuly solve their problem but it just keeps becomin worse and worse....
There was another case where two ministers were watching the brutal murder of a policeman. the inspector was crying for help but these a*&£holes where watchin him die in their car and apparently on asking why they dint come to rescue, the answer came " i was too shocked to react to the situation"... wow!! wat an answer.... bravo Ministers Bravo

Wat a start!!

well all i can think right at now is where to start... final year, final semester so have to do this project about which i will be questioned about by some crackjacks who will definuly not know anything abt my topic and im pretty sure abt it.. but my interest in the subject compelled me to join this lab and start a project related to material synthesis and drug activity.. initially had sat for weeks together coming up a perfect protocol... phew!! twas a relief to start doin the experiment which by the way lasts for 5 hours... so did i get any results?? no!!! the equipment stopped functioning bcoz the electrode fell down in the solution beaker and broke and hence experiment stopped... weeks preparation of charting out the procedure, gone to the drain... so again spent another week including christmas day in the lab pondering as to where to start and as to how do i go abt the project.... so finally decided to do using hydrothermal method ( equipment cost : 11 lakhs) .. and started the run and everything went on smoothly... got the product and then discovered that it had impurities more than the desired material... there's this stirrer which dint work and had deposited all the metals rusted on the liquid sample.... tried it again yesterday but still no luck.... so again today but still had the god damn impurities.... the pissing factor in this is that i have to wait for more than five hours to reach the optimum conditions and then 12 hours to come back to room conditions so that i can remove the sample.. so after all this painful procedure when i see those impurities in the bottom of the beaker.. just go crazy.... on the other had made plans for the great 2010 first day bash... but instead have to spend time in the lab running the process.. well here is to a crappy new year!!!

Science is a religion

well i cannot say how perfect the phrase " Science is a religion" is especially if you have to work under a person who follows it. i guess ll be the only person who spends time in de lab during xmas... i ended up in the lab the entire day, meddling with chemicals and pressing buttons on the complex equipment(wich btw cost more than a million).. the interesting thing abt it is that still now i have not got the result and the reason is the electrode in the equipment broke... so had to tink abt another technique and had to pour myself over the literature to find out a different protocol....

NDTV Hindu rocks!!

for the ppl in chennai, ndtv along with leading daily Hindu have started a channel that is cmpletly dedicated to the ppl in chennai and tamilnadu... basically i like all the shows in it. infact i started to watch the channel after knowing that one of my univ senior works for this channel.. so i wanted to see if he's doin a good job... so there's dis one show calle the big pic where Ms. Anuradha reviews abt the latest movies and her opinion abt it.. so as usual i watchd it today cos she was gonna talk abt Paa ans New Moon... and during the end of every episode she ask a question abt the DVD movie(which is always an old one) which she reviewed and the first one to answer the question will get the DVD of the movie... the question that she asked today was related to the 1946 musical Around the world in 80 days... abd guess wat?? I happened to answer and infact the first one to answer it... i got a call from her and apparently won the DVD.... i was delighted to hear that and she was so adorable... she just enquired abt my education and basically as to wat im doin.. infact i came to kno that she's the boss of my coll senior and spoke to him too.. Yipee!! I will be gettin the DVD on monday...... Gute Nacht

So called BIG shots must be SHOT BIG

I have always wonedered if i'll be a big shot.. i mean not just power but the knowledge wise and to achieve sumthin. but lately ppl with all these so called knowldg and power are just turning out to be tyrants in some way... whethr its politician or govn official or even scientist or even a univ prof... Recently i had sent mails to couple of univs and till now have got no replies.. i mean ofcours they are busy but come on, cant they reply to mails... they may get infinite mails a day but they can defnly spare sum time and help ppl and reach out to them... not a month ago, frnd of mine wanted to get his transcripts and man oh man!! that guy responsible for it was so damn lethargic and made him wait for many days.. i have always tot tat once after reaching certain point where the learned achieve knowledge, there comes the quality of being humble and down to earth characteristics but i guess that happens only in valmiki era and not in this satanic world

Divisions and more Divisions

The entire telugu speaking state's burning..... people running amok and frantically calling out in telugu slogans which either says that they need new state or the new state must not be amended... BUT Home minister already announced that Telugana state will be formed by the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.. The next thing that comes to mind is wat about Hyderabad??? Will it be the new capital of the state or will be an union teritory similar to what happened to Chattisgharh..... Anyway thanks to these selfish politicians that our country wil have even more states.... gorkha ppl have started to follow the footsteps of KCR and are fasting to achieve their goal of creating a Gorkhaland from the present West Bengal.... well even the Maharashtra ppl are not too far.. they have started a silent and peaceful protest to form state called Vidharba(doesn sound cool ryt??).... Guess UP politicians were not satisfied from just one split.. They want many new states, Harithpradesh, Bundhelkhand and another state whose name is derived from bhojpuri and i cant remember:)..... well one should not be suprised to wake up to the news saying India has over 50 states...

Peranmai.. Story different from tamil melodrama

I went with a friend today to watch the movie-"Peranmai" And the movie did have an impact on me. The story revolves around the protagonist (Jeyam Ravi) who hails from a tribal group but is working as NCC trainer. He has a perfect balance between conserving his culture while being modern in his thoughts. The story is about how 5 girls and this man stop the foreign intrusion in India's rocket launch. Although the action sequences at some instances were indigestible, yet movie had a lot to teach.

Here are a few lessons I learnt from the movie :

1) Girls are more fond of men's ass than men are fond of theirs!!!
2) Girls share/steal undies..(phew..guys dont!!!).. so never ever try to steal your girl friend's undies for your fantasy. you might end up with one of her frenz!!!!
3) Girl's would do the most smartest things & the most stupid things when you least expect it from them! (the point where the girl dies by drowning and the other one gets killed by Mr.Universe! In the latter case, the irony was that she killed a few foreign armed men using wits but gets killed because of one "cuckoo" sound!
4)If you want the girls to bring revolution or get some work done, motivate them by saying "You are durga, you are kaali, you are shakti, you aer..well.. the list should go on unless you see the pupil of the girl's eyes enlarge to the maximum!
5) Once she takes the hybrid form of above mentioned avatars, she will have such a ferocious appearance that the cops will run despite the fact that he will have a gun in hand while our durga, shakti, kaali will be chasing them completely unarmed!
6) Girl's keep repeating mistakes and act foolish. The only smart thing they do is to fall in love with guys!
7) tribals walk on their hands when they get angry! I guess that's how the tamil phrase " thalay kizha ninnu aathu senju kaatanum" came int existence. meaning- i will do it even if i have to stand upside down.

Well..the movie did teach me some serious lesson. .

1) It taught me that I should never care about who takes the credit. I should do my best for the welfare of the people of my country.
2) One must keep cool. It is a known fact that people around you will pull you down to come up. But you must keep working and helping others. If others dont help you, make it a point that you help others!
3) you senior officials are dumb and would always insult you. Never bother yourself with that. Explain things to your conscience and no one else!
4) Patience is one of the biggest asset. It pays well.. infact very well
5) Anger is the best weapon. never show it by shouting or fighting. Accumulate it as energy and show it in your work!
6) finally, as mentioned above, dont care if you dont get recognition for the work You ultimately made some contribution while living and that is important in life than getting fame!

Apart from few flaws, the movie was a good one. I was happy that it was not one of those village type of love stories where they keep going round n round on giant wheel in a stupid fair when they fall in love. The stunts were awesome and the way Ravi acted was really marvellous. Worth watching once.
